daybed Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Anyone ever add a 13 pin or a synth pickup to make there Heritage work with midi? Been toying with the idea..... Nathan
tulk1 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 My Millie SAE had the wiring for the 13pin. But we never wired it that way. Don't know why it wouldn't work, tho'. I think that'd be darned cool.
DC Ron Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 The Roland GK-3 comes with hardware to attach the midi pickup to the bridge of a LP-type setup (as well separate hardware for a strat-type). There is also a GK-KIT-GT3 builders kit for mounting the midi hardware internally that is pretty cool but requires some additonal holes in the top. Carvin does this for their new builds, other builders probably do as well. Here's my guitar with a GK setup (previous owner).

Nathan My old Epi Tele copy has enjoyed new life by employing a Roland GK 3 (which I use with my GR 09 guitar synth)...the reason I use the Epiphone is because the strings are SO low to the fingerboard. It's the only guitar where the pickup actually picks up all of the vibrations (i.e. strings)....although I'm still thinking of getting a Roland ready Strat....
