majorage Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, behold the one and only (as far as I know) double quilt top H-157. And one of me in action
FredZepp Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Excellent... Quilt front and back w mahogany center... The finish is cool too. BlackandTanandBlack ... Thanks for the pics...
schundog Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 SSWWWEEETTTT!! I almost thought it was a H-155, with the front and back like that, but the pickup switch and lower bout obviously make it a 157. Nice guitar, and welcome!
majorage Posted August 15, 2010 Author Posted August 15, 2010 Thanks for the welcome, it actually was supposed to be "cobalt blue", but it ended up being "cobalt purple". From a distance, though, it does look black, or at least dark.

It looks like you have a good time rockin' on this axe...
majorage Posted August 15, 2010 Author Posted August 15, 2010 Unfortunately, the finish is so dark the quilt is kind of hard to see, and I don't have any other good pics. She's a sweet axe, though. Not great for metal, which is my style of choice, but when I'm playing with some friends in their classic rock band it is perfect. The Seth Lover pickups aren't super high output, but the EQ on them gives them that awesome midrange cut. It's a nice departure from the rest of my metal guitars.
barrymclark Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 I really dig this duo tone stuff Heritage has been doing! A real beauty you got there!
majorage Posted August 15, 2010 Author Posted August 15, 2010 Thanks, Barry, I'm glad you like it. This one was totally custom to my specs, and I don't think the guys at Heritage were thrilled about it since I ordered it in 2004 and received it in 2008. 3 1/2 years of waiting, Ren will tell you i"m a persistent $@%&.

Geez! But it looks sweet though. Put a different pickup in the bridge and it will do metal. Seth's are just awesome for jazz though!
majorage Posted August 15, 2010 Author Posted August 15, 2010 Well, I have another 157 in white with a 500t in the bridge and it takes care of the metal just fine. It also is one of the sweetest playing guitars I have ever found. Some guitars just have that magic that makes them play like there aren't any strings at all.
High Flying Bird Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Purple doesn't show up to well on digital images. I'll bet it doesn't suck!
Dick Seacup Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Very nice, unique guitar! Bonus points for following protocol and immediately posting pics! Welcome to The Club!
Thundersteel Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 3-1/2 years of waiting? You've got more patience than I do! That one is a real looker!
FredZepp Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 I can pickup a little of the blue /purple in the pic, nice. And yes, this guitar can lean more towards some higher gain sounds with a pickup change, but the Seths are sweet for classic rock.
majorage Posted August 15, 2010 Author Posted August 15, 2010 Bluescat, you have a keen eye, my friend. When the light on a Goldtone turns red, other guitar players turn green with envy.
JWALKER Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Very very nice, congratulations. Beautiful guitar.
