schundog Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 I got my first Heritage in March or April of 2010, a Translucent Red 535 that bit me with the Heritage bug pretty well. Then in June or July, I couldn't pass up a great deal on a used 2001 H155 Millenium, a great sounding, looking guitar. I've been wanting a quality P90 guitar for some time, having gotten rid of an Epiphone Casino because of feedback issues, and only having a cheap Hamer XT with P90s. At PSP III, I nearly bought a yellow korina H137 from a member who was looking to unload his, and Lyle was relentlessly urging me to pull the trigger. I didn't, but I played Lyle's 137 on Saturday, and really dug it. I missed out on Smurph1's 137 here a week or so ago, but if I were going to get one, I really would have preferred the yellow. Anyway, I also really liked fx99 (Randy)'s 525. Recently, mgoetting put his 525 up for sale, and, after cashing in my 04 American Deluxe Stratocaster, my Epiphone Sheraton II, and adding some cash, I pulled the trigger on it. I'm really digging it so far. Feedback doesn't seem to be an issue, unless I really try to induce it, and the neck profile, while not as thick as I like, is acceptable. Anyway, here are the obligatory pics. I apologize for being the world's worst photographer. My 11 year old took some of the better ones here.
Dick Seacup Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Sweet. I'm sorely tempted by those 525s. The simplicity of the bail tailpiece and the P90s calls to me.
FredZepp Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 That is a nice assortment of pics.... well done. And .. you included the other Heritage guitars that you mention . That is a sweet group , the new addition being excellent . It has a great Heritage look with that finish and you can't go wrong with a 525 w P90's I don't know which of the three I'd grab.. usually in a group like this there is one that I might prefer a bit, but all of these are excellent ... Very nice new addition there...
Steiner Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 You have some beautiful colors going on there Schundog! That 525 is enticing. I'll bet she barks like a dog when you spank her!!!
JeffB Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Nice guitars. You have been busy. The 525 looks great.
skydog52 Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Nice acquisition Schundog. You are developing a nice collection. Those 525s are starting to give me GAS.
schundog Posted August 21, 2010 Author Posted August 21, 2010 Thanks everyone. I PMed Brent to ask him about feedback issues, I wasn't sure, yadda yadda, and, of course, he tried to talk me out of buying another Heritage....Yeah, RIGHT!! LOL. No, seriously, your encouragement helped me make the decision, Brent; I appreciate it. Now, anybody want to go swimming this afternoon?!
smurph1 Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 that's a nice bevy of beauties, even in black and white!!
Gitfiddler Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Congrats on the 525!! These seem to be our little Heritage secret weapons. Great finish on a great guitar. And the pics ain't so bad either.
High Flying Bird Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Man, that's a good looking guitar. Someone took some very nice photos too.
pegleg32 Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Great looking guitars, every one, Shundog. Bet you will love the p90s.
LK155 Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Very nice choice there, friend. Welcome to the P90 cult. And judging from your excellent pix, your 2001 Mille 155 is almost a dead ringer for my 2001 Mille 155. Maybe they're related. ASB finish? (Isn't 'dead ringer' part of the punch line for a long tortuous joke about the brother of a deaf mute church bell rope puller?) Congrats on your new axe. Lyle
schundog Posted August 22, 2010 Author Posted August 22, 2010 Man, that's a good looking guitar. Someone took some very nice photos too. Coming from you, Bird, that is high praise, indeed!! Thanks, but as I said, I think my 11 year old artistic daughter took the ones that are good! Very nice choice there, friend.Welcome to the P90 cult. And judging from your excellent pix, your 2001 Mille 155 is almost a dead ringer for my 2001 Mille 155. Maybe they're related. ASB finish? Lyle Thanks, Lyle, Not to get too mushy, but after PSP, I feel like I DID make a new friend in you, and your wonderful wife Marge. I appreciate your generosity in letting me play your 137, there may be one of those in the future as well. (much later.) My Millenium is acually Chesnut; I thought ours were identical, too until I put them together. More red in mine; both BEAUTIFUL!
ronalr Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Congratulations on the 525...outstanding looking...and it goes well with the others....really nice pictures...thanks!!!
fxdx99 Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Oh Yeh!! Congrats, Brian. Love the finish on that piece - and on your cherry red semi, too.
TonyM Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 NICE!!! Only question is - how do you find time to give all three of those beauties enough playing time! TonyM
mark555 Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Very very nice, congratulations on having such great taste.
