Doug Simon...Heritage Artist?

I ran across this Heritage ad for sale on Ebay (I know, I shouldn't even be looking!) and spotted an artist unknown to me.

 

Who is Doug Simon? He obviously has great taste in instruments, but I cannot find any information on or about him.

It appears he was a session artist for Capitol Records as well as a wine connoisseur and prescription sunglasses enthusiast (the last one I made up). He also died a couple of years ago: Linky.

 

The heritage site has a space saved for him but it is unused: Doug Simon
