Spectrum13 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Starting to feel a bit sick, boss. Maybe I better leave the office now so I don't get anyone else sick. I know that feeling and it's the opposite of sick.

smurph1 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Damn! You need sunglasses to look at it. +100 on that!! What's the difference between a 530 and a 535?
Spectrum13 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 +100 on that!! What's the difference between a 530 and a 535? P90 pickups vs HB full hollow vs semi / no certer block. Trap tailpiece vs stoptail most often no pickguard.
mark555 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 That is a beaut ! The front of my shirt is wet with drool ! Peter Alton Green That's because you are getting old, nothing to do with the guitar, which of course, is very nice.... It's a crying shame for us that our American friends get them for half the price we have to pay.

golferwave Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 It looks like you have yourself a new #1 axe. Congrats and enjoy that beauty!

Guest HRB853370 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Hey guys, thanks for the conga-rats. I don't usually make impulsive decisions, especially with gits, but this was too good of a deal to pass up. And yes, I did order a custom build H525 a few months ago. That custom built to my specs P90 gitfiddle has had me giddy as a little girl in anticipation !!!!! When Bird showed me Marv posing with it's freshly painted naked body, I almost lost it. Then here comes a deal on a 530! Crazy stuff, this GAS. The 530 was totally a spontaneous purchase for all of the right reasons...HERITAGE GEAR LUST! Eddies' prices are typically M.A.P. or very high, so I never even considered calling about this 530. They said they are having a Heritage clearance sale right now (hint, hint), and that baby is being shipped as I write. So...In celebration of the soon to be newest member of my Heritage Harem, I'm breaking out the Grant Green "Ain't It Funky Now" CD tonite, cracking open a Mexican beer, and jamming to "Sookie Sookie" (or Snookie Snookie!) When it arrives, I'll take her out for a honeymoon jam, snap a few pics and report back here. (I knows the rules) For now, here's a BIG shot of her from Eddies: Welcome to MY world now! My 550 which JUST arrived and still in the box was a totally spontaneous GAS Heritage Gear Lust Purchase!
Gitfiddler Posted September 3, 2010 Author Posted September 3, 2010 I cracked open the UPS box last night after work (what a long freakin' day!) and pulled the brand new guitar case out of the well popcorned container. The first thing I noticed was a hang-tag metal-clipped to the case exterior with a hand written note stating: "Heritage H-530. First One Made" OK, that's nice. I guess I'll leave that on the case so I don't leave a mark. After opening the case and viewing the Almond Burst beauty laying peacefully, I couldn't help but notice how lightweight this instrument is. I'm guessing under 7 lbs!!! The finish is more brown than red (as pictured) but darn near flawless and very flamey. Inside the case was the usual case candy and truss rod wrench, but also something special. There was an 8 1/2 x 11 parchment certificate of authenticity from Heritage Guitar, Inc., confirming that this was the "...First Production H-530, sn Z29502...", and ended with..."It is with great pride and satisfaction that the owners of Heritage Guitar certify and seal this document." The final touch was signatures from Jim Deuloo, J.P. Moats, Marvin Lamb and Vincent Margol. How cool is that?! I sent an email to the boys on Parsons Street and Ren confirmed that everything is legit. Nice touch, guys! I really did not buy this because it was the first production 530. But it does make it even more special to me. OK, but how does it play??? Acoustically this full hollow is a cannon. This is ehnanced by the trapeze tailpiece and perfect set-up. Eddie's put on a fresh set of 10's prior to shipping. Classy touch. I sat in the living room for about 15 minutes playing it, enjoying its natural over tones and admiring how open it sounded all the way up the neck. Plugged in is where the magic started. First I plugged into my Champ II and Celestion V30 ext. cab rig. with a touch of reverb from a new Holy Grail pedal. Whoa, this thing is crisp and loud and wants to give up very musical feedback if pushed. Clean was jazzy and sweet and more overtones than acoustically. Nice. Chords rang our and even with a touch of Champ overdrive, note-to-note clarity was still there. Next I plugged it into the maple cabinet Blues Jr. and Silverface Deluxe Reverb. I couldn't get a bad tone from any of them. I did have to EQ the amps a bit to cut down some of the highs and lows. This is a bright guitar but the bass string can get boomy. After minimal tweaking, it sounded beautiful and chimey. Even the guitar's volume control aided in gently smoothing out some of the highs by rolling it back to 9. The tone pots are extremely wide ranged and useful. This guitar is meant to be played. It has an old vintage vibe that gave me dreams of playing with the masters of the 50's and 60's. Early Benson and Grant Green tones poured out. Lollar P90's have a hi-fi bark to them when pushed that no other pickups seem to have. Yet they clean up to sound very humbucker-like. Sweet!! And the 60 cycle hum is at a minimum...at least at bedroom volumes. Yes, this is a keeper.
Gitfiddler Posted September 3, 2010 Author Posted September 3, 2010 Pictures? Man, I've been too busy playin' to be takin' pics! Check out the link. The Certificate of Authenticity is included. Certificate of Authenticity
Kuz Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 GitFiddler, that is just a extraordinary instrument of the first degree!!! As far as it being the first ever, well congrats and just something to sweeten the pot. I don't love my 535 p-90 anymore or less because it is the first one made as well, but it makes for a neat after dinner story!!! Play that baby in good health!!!!!
Jazzpunk Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 This one is on the way to Gitfiddle land!! H530 Awesome!
