jazzrat Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 This is an old Django Reinhardt piece from the 40's called Nuage. Best my arthritic old fingers could do at 11 at night. One pass through finger style. It's recorded pretty low so you will have to turn up. ledzef Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Honestly the static kinda of gave it a more organic feeling. Really enjoyable piece Rat thanks for posting. And too think Django only had 2 working fingers on his fretting hand pretty remarkable.

barrymclark Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Wow, J'rat. Just wow. I love the feel you have in this tune. I wish I could download this and put it on my iPod to listen to at work. If you put out a collection of tunes, let me know. I'd get it!
bolero Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 wow all those tunes on your soundclick acct sound great!!
TalismanRich Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Listening to it another time, with the speakers turned up, the mic's balance and added hiss gave it a nice "78 record" type of sound, perfect for an old Django piece. Nice job, J'Rat.
jazzrat Posted August 29, 2010 Author Posted August 29, 2010 Thanks guys, I'm thinking of these as pencil sketches if you will. I've tried to make a really polished finished recording before and it drove me nuts. Maybe I'm too lazy or whatever but for me there is some therapeutic value in capturing a musical moment in a one take, low tech fashion. There always seem to be one or two little things that are ok.
NoNameBand Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Very pretty. The song is beautiful and the guitar sounds great. Nice touch.
