Guest mgoetting Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Usually the listing says in at least two places it's left handed. I'm not blaming anyone here. I am surprised it wasn't specifically stated though.

I am surprised it wasn't specifically stated though. Well, I've sent an email to the seller. I've already paid, so I suppose that technically he'd be within his rights to refuse the request. We'll see...
tulk1 Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 I'm not blaming anyone here. ??? Surely we, as a collective, haven't gotten so sensitive to other's remarks that we'd blame anyone here for pointing out it was left handed. Or that the seller didn't point it out. Have we? And no, I'm not calling anyone Shirley!

the jayce Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Nice snagg!!!!!!!!!!!!! We just had a long thread about how prices of the used heritages where dropping like a sac of taters lately. Wish I had some xtra cash to get on the buying bandwagon right now thats for sure. But what an awsome guitar and price. Well done!

High Flying Bird Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 And no, I did not realize that this guitar is a lefty. Are you seriously interested? Hahahahahaha............... Sorry. Hahahahahahahahaha....................
Hfan Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Well, I've sent an email to the seller. I've already paid, so I suppose that technically he'd be within his rights to refuse the request. We'll see... As someone said it should have been clearly labeled as a lefty.
drfie Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 You could do the Mike Bloomfield thing in reverse--righty playing lefty. dan
erictheweasel Posted August 30, 2010 Author Posted August 30, 2010 You could do the Mike Bloomfield thing in reverse--righty playing lefty. dan I've actually thought about that. But wouldn't the angle of the bridge interfere with proper setting of intonation? eric
cod65 Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 I've actually thought about that. But wouldn't the angle of the bridge interfere with proper setting of intonation? eric you really dont want to do this with a guitar shaped like this, trust me. I've tried. In fact I bet most lefties have tried just about every shape of righty. this is one of the more cumbersome shapes to deal with. I didn't know Mike Bloomfield was a lefty playing righty.
Guest HRB853370 Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 It was not disclosed in the auction, but did you know it was a lefty? Hide it in your car then sneak it in when she is at work. I do it all the time.
Guest HRB853370 Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 I specifically asked the seller if this was a left handed guitar when the auction started, (just in case there were mirrors involved and I was seeing somthing that was not actually there). He replied that it was, but he SHOULD HAVE POSTED THE REPLY FOR EVERYONE TO SEE. By NOT doing that, and not disclosing it in the auction, well, that could be construed as deceptive.
drfie Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 I didn't know Mike Bloomfield was a lefty playing righty. It's true, and it was a major contribution to his style. When Bloomers was "on" there were few rivals to the way he attacked a fretboard. dan

All's well that ends well. The seller refunded the entire purchase price, no questions asked.
