Special Invitation To New Members

Hello players,

I'm profgumby here, but my friends call me Swen. Have been playing since 1964, but not very often due to "life" responsibilities; raising kids, restoring old houses, work (see, work is last), and stuff like that. Starting to think retirement, and don't want to spend the rest of my life watching TV - I'll play guitar instead :)

So, I just sold my '73 Gibson L6-S (black-perfect) and Martin DC1-E - and picked up a new Heritage H535 in natural finish. An ES-335 has been on my bucket list for roughly 30 years, and I finally bit the bullet after playing a '535 a few months back but went with the Heritage instead. But I have a question for the group.

The L6-S had a bit of buckle rash, and I'd like to prevent that on the Heritage. I've been surfing the net, and came up with quite a few "finish protectors" for the back of the guitar.

Any comments/recommendations on rash protection would be appreciated.

Ciao'

Hello My name is Marshall and I have two Heritage guitars.

I have an H-150 burst of some kind but I don't know the name for it.

It is kind of root beer colored around the edges and lighter in the middle.

It has uncovered Seymour Duncan pups and Gibson type bridge and stop tail.

I also have a H-150 P that is black with the original gold hardware.

How do you post pictures on this site? I had to crop them so small to be 1.5m you

can hardly see them and they were still to big to use for my portrait.

Marshall, a JPG file that fits in the avatar slot should be about 5-10k, not 1.5M. They are only about 180x180 pixel photos. Convert your regular pics to JPGs around 1024x768 or 800 x 600 and they will post fine. Store them on a site like Photobucket, dropBox, or other cloud storage areas. Then just post the public link to that file by clicking the little picture frame icon, paste in the link and Presto! Easy as pie!

Welcome aboard!

Welcome! Wear an untucked tshirt and or move your buckle off center away from the body of your guitar (above your front pants pocket on under the headstock side of your guitar.) If people ask you why your buckle is off center, just tell them you play guitar and they'll understand. I always have a tactical knife clipped onto the front pocket of my pants (on the guitar body side) which I always have to remember to take off and lay on top of the amp while I play.

Here goes ....

Greetings to all, I've been reading the posts ever since i ordered my new Heritage H-140cm which arrived yesterday, and I finally put it down long enough to write ... I am blown away by this guitar - I JUST LOVE IT!

I have owned an early 60's model G*****n LP custom ... (the SG shape with triple gold pups, ebony fretboard and that funny tremolo arm), as well as an SG special, but this guitar is the best thing I have ever laid paws on!

I bought it for my 65th birthday, and even though I'm an old fart, it takes me right back to the late 60's/early 70's when I had hair and the music was all I ever needed.

I now live in the Kimberley region of Western Australia ... crocodiles and wild country, but she'll get played somehow!

So that's my 2 cents worth, and my introduction!

Hello all,

Sorry for posting elsewhere first.

I'm a ten year veteran and earned two Masters degrees a few years back and now drowning in school debt. Joohyyyy!

Anyway, I really like the Heritage sounds. Basically, I'm here to learn more about Heritage and hopefully buy one someday.

There's many different styles that I like and have already played for a while but stopped about a year ago after work started consuming everything. So I took charge of my life, left the east coast and moved to the laid back southwest to reclaim my life and music should be part of it.

So before I heard Peter Green I was always into playing classical piano but I really wanted to try the blues after Peter Green. Time got away but not the desire.

Plus, there's just so many awesome songs to play with a bluesey style; early R&B, British blues, etc.

Alright.

Thanks all.

Hi,

Onur here, from Turkey.

Been playing guitar 12 years now.

Just got a H-157 after wanting a H-150 for a long time, she's arriving in 2-3 days.

I'll share photos when she's in my hands.

I'm hoping to order a custom H-150 too soon.

Hola todos ...my poor spanish. Hi everyone. I'm Estevote, a classic guitarist now for 50 years..who has decided that he wants to study jazz and develop improvisational skills. My only electric guitars are a Ramirez 2CWE and a Godin LGX SA but I've spent most all of the past week researching guitars online (along with studying my 1st free online jazz lessons) and searching for an appropriate guitar..I have to be very selective, since I already have about 30 classical guitars sitting around here...I do try to play all of them in their turn..and to make a long story shorter, I thought that the Heritage guitars were closer to what I am used to playing..you know, the solid wood variety acoustic classical type..so I have made my purchase..I have cast the die...I found a `96 H575 that is brand new and purchased it on one of those auction sites. Now, understand, the seller ships it to a place in the U.S. where they bring it to my door here in Costa Rica, AFTER I pay a little over 30% of the purchase price + shipping, which is why I needed to find a good deal. So, it will be at least a month before I have my new 575. I can only wait and hope that I've done the right thing..the guitar is brand new, never out of the store, 1996 H575 regular classic type with the sunburst whatever..the price was a little under $1500 delivered to the place that will deliver it to me, after I pay what I estimate as another $500 to $600, which as best I can figure is still under cost of a new H575..so I hope it is right and all goes well and the guitar arrives safely etc etc...it's a risk, but one that I've made a dozen times already with pretty good results..most all of the fine classical guitars that have been brought to me were more expensive. So I'd love to hear opinions...I'm encouraged by seeing the recent posts being made within the past month of the current year..maybe someone here will read this and give me their "2 cents" I'm looking forward to being able to post an update next month telling how wonderful my new guitar is. Hasta pronto..

Estevote, welcome. You purchased a great guitar for jazz. Looking forward to seeing pictures of it next month. Peace, Stephen

Just joined while waiting for my first Heritage to arrive. Finally arrived a couple days ago. I had been looking for a Jr style for awhile and never found a decent one outside of 2K custom shop versions. I happened to be in K-zoo and caught the tour a couple weeks ago and well, here I am.
