Correct, that is Rosewood. Nice! Here's a photo. I think in fact I've been fooling myself (not that it matters): it's just dark rosewood I am sure. Ebony has a finer grain I think.

Hi and welcome to the HOC!Ok, thank you for the invite. I am a new member, Jeff, and have a brand new, to me , Heritage H575, Mimi Fox edition, and it is beautiful! Plays like a dream. I am 60 - something, have been playing music all my life, but not as a pro. Jazz sax, have played in big bands over the years, jazz piano ( finger issue s on right hand caused me to give it up). Never went to music school, but always wanted to. My heritage is one day old, to me, and I love it! Other guitars are a 1979 Guild D-35 ( still great), Martin OM-28, G&L tele ( cool), and a Comins GCS1 ( marvelous). I play through a Genzler amp. I am now taking jazz guitar lessons from a wonderful teacher - after years of raising kids and not playing. If anyone is interested in the real deal as a teacher just let me know - he teaches over the internet in this crazy day and age. I spend hours some nights playing, practicing, going down rabbit holes to explore chord melodies and improvization - it is a relief and release from the stresses of work and life. I hope that the pics come out well....

Welcome aboard Tommy/Rollerdawg. You've joined a Great group and we will enjoy your input.Hi I'm Tommy.. I'm a professional bassist for 60 years.. tried to learn guitar as a kid but it just didn't work for me.. When I was 10 my cousin let me hold his 57 J bass and it was like when Harry Potter found his magic wand.. I could play this thing and I've played bass ever since.. Upright bass, bass guitar, sousaphone and tuba all thru school and college.. I didn't choose to be a bassist.. the bass chose me and I'm still a working musician at age 71 and have no intention of retiring.. I am also the proud owner of an HB2 prototype bass made by Ren in 1987 and its the finest playing bass I've ever played.. I'm glad to be a part of HOC.. Thanks for having me..
@JayBecker: Welcome to the HOC! Prospects are unique and wonderful guitars. It's another model that Heritage should bring back into production. Yours looks to be in good hands. Play it in good health.Hi: Long-time owner here, but never found this site until today. I have a '93 Prospect. Not sure if that's a well-loved model in these parts, but it has a lot of gigs under its belt. Natural finish, Schaller pickups and some crazy coil-split and who-knows-what wiring, which I've never changed, cause I really just use it for straight ahead jazz gigs. Schallers are really hot, too; they'll overdrive a preamp that no other guitars of mine will punch that far.
