Just bought my second H535. Got the first one three years ago from Frailers in Runcorn. Been my No.1 for gigs from the word go. Neptune blue, always get comments on the look of it. Even from my Dad who does not usually even notice my guitars and wouldn't know one end from the other!
Interesting to see some of the comments about pickups as I have thought this might be a weekness of the guitar (stock schallers). I have a Gibson 2005 ES335 and have always loved the classic '57s that are on it. Even though I don't use it much the 335s neck pickup has a usable clear sound whereas the H535s neck pickup is muddy and indistinct to my ears. I wondered if it was more the H535 than the pickup that made it sound this way?
The other original hardware is weird!? grovers great! but bridge made with rollers for a vibrato with no vibrato? stop tail made for fine tuners but has none and clunky looking? Swapped these last two for more conventional nashville/stop tail.
Do all newer versions come with Duncans and regular hardware as standard? What is the story of the hardware?
The neck is the best part for me! chunky and powerful always gives me confidence when gigging somehow as I find narrower necks to be a bit fiddly.
The new one is a cherry sunburst, another out of the ordinary finsh (my 335 is boring vintage sunburst!) and I am waiting for it to come in from the USA to Liverpool UK where I reside.
Any observations, comments, facts regarding the above will be read with interest.

I'm new here and want to find a "The Heritage" LP style guitar, as I am upgrading my guitar collection. I found this site and know that you all will be great resources for information as I proceed with my quest. My desire is to find a nice used model that fits into my financial situation.

Recent upgrades to my guitars include a '09 Fender American Standard strat, and a Fender Special Edition FMT Black Cherry Burst HH w SD Pearly Gates Bridge and 59 neck, Squire CV 50s Lake Placid blue with Fender Custom Shop Texas Special single coils in an aged white pearl pickguard, Squire CV 50s antique burst with amber pearl pickguard and stock pickups, Peavey HP Signature EXP superstrat, two hot rodded Epiphone LP standards one a plus top w SDs, and an unbelievably great Xavier XV500 LP tribute w GFS Crunch PAT HBs stock, also have a great Epiphone SG copy of a Gibson sixty six with great stock pups in transparent cherry.

Welcome, Duffy. Nice pile of stuff you have there. And yes, it is time for a Heritage. Spend just a bit of time casting around here, and you'll find a wealth of information, tons of experience and informed opinion on Heritage guitars, and a bunch of terrific folks. The "Bay Watch" and "For Sale" sections offer any number of good instruments, regular turnover, and the HOC "staff" offering up informed opinions and practical observations. Enjoy!
Nicolas. You sure that's a SD 59 on there? That's a great LP neck pup, way more articulate than the jazz. They don't say Seymour Duncan on them. What's up with that? Maybe some kind of factor special order from SD. My 59 necks sound great but are nickel covered, that could affect the sound somewhat.
The sound also has to do with the individual guitar models overall electronics set up, tone caps, pots, etc.
Maybe your guitar is just designed to give that sound. Try backing off the volume knob a little and messing with the tone knob.
Also, your amp will definitely have a lot to do with the way the SD 59 sounds. That is a great, great pickup, in my opinion. And a JB or Pearly Gates in the bridge are also great. SD makes super great pickups.

Needlesstosay, a SD 59 will never sound like a Fender Texas Special single coil, but a 59 should sound fantastic for what it is, should sound clear and articulate with no muddiness. The idea that there is no Seymour Duncan lettering on the pickups would have me checking the bottom. Maybe they are not SDs, but SD copies or SD designed and even they say SD designed on them. Maybe someone knows more.
Did you get the guitar used. Maybe someone pulled the old trick of stripping out the great stock pups.

I just picked up my first Heritage, a beatifully flamed 535 with a bound headstock and trapazoid inlays from the factory yesterday. Ren was as cordial as could be and gave me a quick tour as well. This guitar is perfect! It rings like a bell unplugged and sings like an Angel when plugged in. Thanks to the fine craftsmen at Heritage!!!!

My weapons of choice are H-157's or H-150's.
Somewhere in my research I read that Heritage had stopped all advertising efforts and that they relied solely on word of mouth from their fans to promote the instruments.
Well, here is the beginning of my own effort to promote the Heritage line of guitars...

Earlier today I took at a peek at the link on the HOC main page for the Les Paul forum and it appears that the concept for the heritageguitarfan.com web site is very similar, except that the heritageguitarfan.com web site would be only for Heritage guitars. I hope the site can one day grow into something that all Heritage guitar owners and fans can appreciate.

I have more guitars than is strictly necessary, but a couple of months ago, when I found out that the UK distributor for Heritage Guitars was a few miles away from Nottingham, I had to investigate... I now have a very nice Almond Sunburst 535 with HRW pickups and Tone Pros bridge and tailpiece. It makes sense to join the owners club, so here I am!
I gig occasionally with a local blues band and as the other guitarist uses a Strat, I've used a Les Paul or 335. For the last couple of gigs I've used the 535 and have been very happy with the sound I'm getting! My main amp is a Mesa Maverick 1x12, pedals include a Zendrive 2, Cry Baby, Fulltone Super Trem and a Tech 21 Boost DLA.

I cheated a bit with the pic, it's from the High End Guitars website, though it is the actual guitar. The service from Jason at High End Guitars was excellent, it was more like getting a bespoke suit than buying a guitar! Make an appointment, go along and talk about music, favourite guitarists and life in general and he will find the right guitar for you! They also stock Santa Cruz acoustics - I didn't dare try one out, otherwise I might have left with two guitars instead of one...Welcome to the HOC , BobYou found a 535 with some nice specs there. I imagine that it is really sweet. Join in and tell us about your Heritage... . nice 535 pic there
Apparently most people prefer the guitars without scratchplates, but I really like the stained flame maple - a touch of class.
